Just imagine...socialising, eating dinner and spending the night in arguably the most famous house in Welsh literature - the house where one of the most celebrated poets and writers of the 20th century was born, spent the first 23 years of his life and first put pen to paper.

Well, you and your family and friends can now do this yourselves! Thanks to the tireless efforts of a team of dedicated Dylan Thomas enthusiasts, his birthplace and childhood home at 5 Cwmdonkin Drive in the Uplands suburb of Swansea - the second city of Wales - has been fully restored to its 1914 condition when it was bought as a new house by the Thomas family.

This house played a huge part in shaping the style and output of Dylan Thomas, and we guarantee that there will be something that you will see or touch that will provide memories for a long time to come.

Dinner at Dylans - Lunch, afternoon tea or dinner - Edwardian Style

Throughout his life, Dylan's mother nurtured him with love and home cooking. The food she cooked for him would have been fresh, seasonal and sourced locally - today it would be called organic, farm fresh or homemade. In the same vein as Florence Thomas, we have lovingly crafted a variety of ways in which you can sample your own slice of culinary life at 5 Cwmdonkin Drive.

With a piano, phonogram and games table our dinner party guests can relive a typical Edwardian evening before the advent of television - all the while also enjoying  a 4 course menu of the very best produce that Swansea has to offer. Our sociable evening dinner parties can consist from just 4 people to up to 10 people with the evening starting at 6:30pm with pre-dinner drinks and a tour of the house.  Food is usually being served around 7:30pm amidst the splendour of the front parlour. For those who truly want to get into the spirit of the era why not dress up in your best vintage wears? (Guests are to supply their own alcoholic drinks.)
