Plantasia’s ‘I’m a Celebrity’ Jungle Challenge
BRAVE Swansea souls have the chance to follow in champion boxer Amir Khan’s footsteps by tackling some of the trials and tribulations a new group of celebrities are now facing in the Australian jungle.
With the new series of ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!’ having now started on ITV, rainforest smoothies and cockroach challenges have been arranged at Plantasia in Parc Tawe.
To mark the hit programme’s return, other challenges at the Swansea Council attraction include feely hell holes and bush tucker style feasts.
The fun is being made available from 11am to 1pm on Saturday November 25, Sunday November 26, Saturday December 2, Sunday December 4, Saturday December 9 and Sunday December 10.
Bookings in advance aren’t required, but normal Plantasia admission charges will apply.
Cllr Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Tourism and Major Projects, said: “These fun, safe, expert-led challenges should be really enjoyable for young visitors to Plantasia, while also educating them about wildlife and the ecosystems of rainforests, and of course none of the creatures are harmed.
“Although the ‘I’m a Celebrity’ programme is filmed many thousands of miles away in Australia, the availability of Plantasia in Parc Tawe gives local people the chance to experience jungle life right on our doorstep here in Swansea.
“These are among many events and activities that take place throughout the year at Plantasia to give thousands of people a fun, educational experience.”
Anyone who completes all four challenges is in with a chance to win a keeper experience, giving the opportunity to get up close with Plantasia’s animals, join in with food preparation and feeding, and learn what it takes to become an expert keeper.
