'Lest We Forget' - Marking the Centenary of the First World War

Saturday 10th - Sunday 18th November, Margam Park

Margam Country Park will mark the Centenury of the First World War by hosting the Heritage Lottery Funded event, Lest We Forget.

Visitors to the Park will have the chance to see the FIRST EVER Flower Festival to take place inside Margam Castle.

The inside of Margam Castle will be transformed by large scale floral installations provided by the National Association Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS). Come and see over 50 spectacular floral designs, each linking to the Centenary of the First World War.

Lest We Forget will include:

  • A Flower Festival inside Margam Castle
  • A ‘Gallery of Local Heroes’ - showcasing Neath Port Talbot’s own connections to the First World War. Featuring photographs and stories of people from the locality who contributed to the war effort.
  • WW1 Local Schools Exhibiton in The Orangery
  • Poppy Tribute Wall in The Orangery

Visit The Orangery to add your own tribute to the 'Poppy Tribute Wall'. 

The Orangery will be open daily during the event serving Afternoon Tea, Cawl and refreshments - Pre Booking (01639 883553) is advised for Afternoon Tea.
