Promoting Sustainable Travel in Rural Swansea (and beyond) - Get Involved
Tourism Swansea Bay has partnered with BayTrans to deliver a step change in information and community involvement in the development of sustainable transport in rural Swansea. The project is part funded by the Swansea Rural Development Partnership and will bring renewed focus on the merits of public transport, cycling and walking for visitors to rural Swansea.
The project involves a complete overhaul of the www.swanseabaywithoutacar.com website to include images, rural walking routes and sustainable transport options for rural Swansea.
The website will also include information on how to get to and around rural Swansea and will include information on getting to popular tourism businesses / attractions / destinations by sustainable means (bus / foot / cycle). We want to highlight any offers that tourism, leisure & hospitality businesses would like to provide for bus users, rail users, cyclists or walkers. For example some businesses offer guests a small discount if they show their bus ticket on entry.
We want to highlight tourism, leisure & hospitality businesses that are on bus routes, near train stations, or walking / cycling routes so this is an opportunity for some free promotion via the site.
We will also be providing information for people who want to stay in Swansea Bay but explore South West Wales and beyond via public transport.
