*FULLY BOOKED* Workshop: Using Online Design Tools

A practical and interactive workshop using free or low cost online design applications to create posters, graphics, flyers and more. Delegates should leave having used an application to design something relevant to their business and with the confidence to carry on upon return to their business.

Date: Thursday 22nd March 2018
Time: 10.00am arrival for a 10.30am start (workshop ends approx 1.30pm)
Location: Tourism Swansea Bay, The Barham Centre, Mount Pisgah, Parkmill, SA3 2EQ
Cost: £25pp for Trade Association Members / £40pp for non-members (refreshments and a light lunch will be included)

Good design gives the right first impression - and using some of the many free or low-cost design tools available online could help you to bring your messages to life, and create a positive online image for your business.

At this practical and interactive workshop you’ll learn how to use free online design program Canva to create high quality graphics to use in your business marketing. During the session you’ll look at what makes a good design, and produce a piece of marketing material to promote your business - practicing skills that you can apply to producing flyers, posters, social media graphics and much more in the future.

You’ll also look at how to present a consistent brand across your online and print platforms, and gain guidance on aspects to consider when taking your design from screen to print.

Workshop content will include:

  • How to source low cost or free design resources such as images, fonts and templates
  • Creating marketing communications
  • What makes a good design?
  • How to use Canva to create quality marketing materials
  • Understanding print requirements - posters and flyers
  • Understanding online graphics
  • Presenting a consistent print/on-line brand

Pre workshop

Before the workshop you'll be advised which apps / programs will be used and how / where to download them in advance of the day.  If you already use any particular apps / programs – please let Tourism Swansea Bay know so we can allow the trainers to familiarize themselves before you come.

Tourism Swansea Bay advise that you have at least a basic level of computer literacy in order to attend

To take part in this workshop, you need to have your own tablet or laptop (Tourism Swansea Bay has a limited number that can be borrowed)

Members of the tourism associations can attend this workshop at a special discounted rate of £25 per person. 
 
The cost to all others is at the still excellent value price of £40 per person.
